Sometimes love is waiting just around the corner. Sometimes love has to travel from two different continents and into a hospital where two brilliant people are just starting their lives in the medical field. Boyi and Sook’s love story mirrors the latter.
It truly was fate that brought Boyi and Sook together that day. Sook was meant to be shadowing another colleague on the day she met her future husband, but their story began when Boyi offered to let her shadow him instead. A few years later, he asked her to be his wife and they began to plan a celebration of love that honored and encompassed their Chinese and Korean cultures.
Boyi and Sook’s childhoods were similar. Both of their parents made huge sacrifices so their children could have access to beautiful lives and the best education. It was very important to both Boyi and Sook that they honored their parents by paying tribute to their cultures on their wedding day. The result was a perfect blend of many beautiful traditions, all honoring their heritages.
Boyi and Sook showed us that love is about honoring one another. It’s about learning and teaching, nurturing and growing. We were honored to capture their beautifully blended love story and are so excited to share it with you!
Sook was such a stunning bride. She would make a few dress changes that day, each one as stunning and special as the last.
We loved Boyi’s suit. The bold blue color really popped! He and all his groomsmen looked so sharp!
First look. All smiles, all joy.
Gorgeous florals were perfectly designed and displayed. The special part was that they were all made by Sook’s mother!
Boyi and Sook were so sweet and loving toward each other on their wedding day. It was so clear that they were ready to start their lives as husband and wife.
It’s a dream to capture such joy and magic!
Happy tears shed as sweet words were said.
After their ceremony, Boyi and Sook changed into traditional attire for their Korean and Chinese tea ceremonies.
Some traditions are sweeter than others, and we’re not just talking about the delicious treats that were served!
Even more emotion flowed when the families transitioned to celebrate with a Chinese Tea Ceremony.
Boyi’s mom’s advice was so special. “Love is like a flower. It not only needs soil and water, but also nurture and care.
Take care of your marriage and you will be very happy.
We loved these sweet gift boxes at each place setting and the fun questionnaire’s they gave out to guests!
More gorgeous florals by the ever talented mother of the bride!
The delicious food was enjoyed by all, even by the cutest of guests!
During the toasts, Boyi’s parents said, “We understand how hard it is to for Korean parents to give their daughter away. We know you value and pray over who your daughter will marry. We think we got a good one for you.”
We loved the speeches for the bride and groom. It was so clear how loved and cherished they are.
One last kiss to seal the deal on the most perfect day. We wish Boyi and Sook the longest, happiest, most adventure filled marriage!
