One of the most magical and rewarding parts of being photographers is the ability to witness and capture human emotion. We were blessed in abundance at the wedding of Brian and Neftaly, a couple full of love and excitement matched only in loveliness by their family and friends.
The day of their wedding, the weather called for storms. Some say that’s good luck for the bride and groom, but for the photographers it means rain boots and slight panic. We were ready to fight the elements, but the clouds held and cooled the air for their fall wedding at Foxhall Resort.
While the skies held, the ladies prepared. The bride, being equal parts beauty and talent, did her own hair and makeup as well as some of her bridesmaids. Watching her serve her bridal party on her big day gave us a glimpse into how gracious a person she was.
It was easy to see why Brian wanted Neftaly as his bride and partner. It was something that he had been working on for a long time. Brian and Neftaly met in high school, but wouldn’t connect until college. Somehow Brian was always at Neftaly’s house, but they both insisted they were only friends. Brian on the other hand, wanted more, and at the urging of her mother, he asked Neftaly to be his girlfriend (at moms wedding reception). Though she tried to think of all the ways it wouldn’t work, by the end of the night she accepted. Four years later, Brian asked her another important question. This time Neftaly answered right away and they were engaged in New York City, her favorite place in the world.
Just like in life, it’s the small things that make the most impact. Moments like catching the brides parents shedding a happy tear, the groom stealing a kiss, or just catching the perfect light off of the couples beautiful wedding bands. The emotion and care that went into the details of their day was abundant.
A sweet letter to his bride on the day of their wedding.
The couple was married outside under a canopy created by their floral designer. The fall foliage created a stunning backdrop as Brian and Neftaly exchanged vows.
After their “I Do’s” the couple stole away for some quiet moments together.
The classic decor was composed of soft florals and glowing mercury glass. We loved how the design incorporated natural elements with such elegance.
For their first dance the bride changed out of her gown to a chiffon skirt so she could really move. The couples first dance was so fun and a treat for all the guests!
This dance party was one for the books! Everyone brought their best moves for the newlyweds.
At the end of the day, the things that rang true about Brian and Neftaly’s wedding was the immense love they shared for each other. It was in the quite moments, it was in the joy and laughter. And we hope they continue experiencing those thing together for years to come.
