If you haven’t heard, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! With family and friends gathering to celebrate one of our favorite seasons, we wanted to highlight a couple that we felt exemplified the seasons true meaning of love and light.
Roger and Kathy are the kind of couple who can finish each others sentences (swoon!) Everything about these two seems to be in sync. From their loving glances to their playful banter, Kathy and Roger, are without a doubt, very much in love!
The story of how they met is as cute as you may have hoped! When Kathy and Rogers companies’ decided to host kickball teams, they both decided to sign up thinking they would leave the season with a few more friendships and hopefully some helpful business connections. Finding true love on the kickball field did not cross their minds. But as fate would have it, Kathy and Roger’s teams were grouped together. And though they only won one game that season, we’d venture to say they left with the most important connection of all!
After a few flirtatious attempts, Roger had the courage to ask Kathy on a date. Unfortunately for Roger, Kathy didn’t quite pick up on Rogers advances when he mentioned going to Fernbank for their After Dark event. Kathy agreed that the event sounded fun and suggested they should invite other people from their team! Roger being quite the clever one, let Kathy know that he could, “unfortunately get only two tickets for the event.” It all worked out in the end for Roger, because Kathy agreed to attend. From that night on, their relationship went from teammates and friends, to something very special.
After two and a half years of dating, Roger surprised Kathy at her house where he dropped to one knee as she walked through the door. Kathy and her dog Finn happily agreed to marry Roger, who at this point had not even asked Kathy the big question (she was pretty excited if you couldn’t tell)! Roger of course got to all of that, and they decided to celebrate by going back to the place of their first date. To Kathy’s surprise, Roger had arranged for all of their family to join them at the Fernbank Museum to celebrate.
It was a no brainer that Kathy and Roger decided to have their engagement photos taken at Fernbank and Piedmont Park. And we absolutely love it when couples choose locations that they have an emotional attachment to. Kathy was stunning in her cobalt blue gown from Rent the Runway. It complimented Rogers dapper suit perfectly. For their photo’s at Piedmont Park the couple was joined by their dog, Finn. Between the sunset, the skyline and their sweet little family of three, we are totally in love with their engagement session.
So cheers to Kathy, Roger and Finn! We hope that their Christmas and engagement season is full of magic and love. (P.S. – If you’re looking for a little Christmas luck and love, take a look at the Piedmont Park link. Maybe you’ll find that special someone on the kickball diamond this spring!)
Fernbank had the most beautiful nooks for us to take advantage of. Another bonus to shooting at a location with such gorgeous design.
The real star of the show! Finn was such a cutie. We love it when couples bring pets, it brings such a fun and energetic vibe to the photos (also, we just love cute fur babies!)
We think that Finn knows just how handsome he is!
Kathy and Roger picked the perfect palette for their park photo’s. We love how their colors compliment each others, but really stand out from the outdoor foliage.
Can we talk about Kathy’s perfect nail polish color? Neutral and feminine hues work perfectly with rings as beautiful as hers!
