2017 was quite a year for us. We traveled, we experienced new venues, and met some really amazing people. We gave you a peek behind the scenes (featuring some of our best road trip dance moves) and introduced you to our beloved families. We were curious at how we would close out such an amazing year and kick off another one. It had to be festive, it had to be fabulous. Cue Mark and Jessica.
Their love story began at a Marketing firm in Atlanta, but we fell in love with them the moment we met. (Thanks a lot FaceTime!) And when they told us they were planning a New Year’s Eve wedding? We could not contain our excitement. We knew Mark and Jessica’s big day would be spectacular. A Hayley Paige gown, The Stave Room, kisses at midnight…. A BALLOON DROP?! But nothing could prepare us for the emotions we experienced that day. We were already smitten with these two, but seeing them promise each other forever was overwhelmingly beautiful.
Jessica looked stunning in her Blush by Hayley Paige gown. She was perfectly complimented by her bridesmaids who carried gorgeous florals by Everything and More. The girls got ready at one of the coolest homes in Buckhead. (Good news, you can rent this magical place!) The light was pouring in through the large modern windows creating magical moments for Jessica and her girls. Mark waited for his bride with anticipation. When they saw each other during their first look, they were both overcome with emotion. You could see in their eyes how grateful they were for each other. How much joy they had to be marrying their best friend that day.
After their sweet vows and a celebrity appearance by their adorable dog, Letty, Mark and Jessica walked hand in hand for the first time as husband and wife. Since it was New Year’s Eve, their guests were already in the party spirit. Which was good, since the Stave Room is part of the American Spirit Works, a favorite Atlanta distillery! The transformation of the Stave Room was really spectacular. It was a perfect balance of romantic and industrial. We couldn’t help but think about how it complimented Mark and Jessica who are self proclaimed opposites! Everything worked beautifully together. But what we were most excited about was tucked up in the ceiling, waiting to make its midnight debut.
As Mark and Jessica danced the night away, champagne flowed abundantly. As midnight drew near, with glasses of bubbly in hand, guests enjoyed their last moments of 2017 with those they loved. 10,9,8,7,6-Mark and Jessica embrace one last time, saying a million words with just one look. 5,4,3,2,1!
Happy New Year, loves. May this year bring you joy, love, happiness and of course, champagne!
We loved that Jessica opted to rent this gorgeous Buckhead home for her and her girls to get ready in instead of a hotel room. One of the many unique details of Mark and Jessica’s day!
Jessica’s Hayley Paige dress was the perfect combination of festive and elegant! We loved the details in the lace and the tulle skirt was so playful!
Oh hey there Mark. Doesn’t he look strikingly similar to Christopher Reeve when he played Superman?
“Happiness is being married to your best friend.”
Ringing in the New Year with this crew was one we’ll never forget. Can we do it again for 2019?!
Mark and Jessica’s dog, Letty, being led down the aisle by their adorable ring bearer was one of the cutest things we’ve seen!
“And I’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you.”—The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White
The first of many champagne bottles that would be popped that night!
Mark and Jessica’s reception details made us feel like we were in an entirely new magical world. All of the vendors did an incredible job!
Ending 2017 with your first dance is pretty much the most romantic thing we can think of!
Dancing ’til midnight is the best way to bring in a new year, don’t you think?
Late night snacks for guests. Y’all it felt like heaven to these hungry souls after a long wedding day. We vote that EVERY wedding end in food truck goodness!!!!!
“Maybe I’m crazy to suppose
I’d ever be the one you chose
Out of the thousand invitations
Ooh, but in case
